Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or airport at 07:00 hrs and drive through the scenic Athi Plains into the bushy landscapes of Amboseli National Park. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, then embark on an afternoon game drive at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, taking in the park’s spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife. Amboseli is home to large elephant herds, plains game, and the semi-nomadic Masai people who have lived in harmony with the wildlife for centuries. Return to Amboseli Sopa Lodge (or similar) for dinner and overnight.

Start the day with a morning game drive, returning to your lodge for a full breakfast. Spend the late morning at leisure, enjoying a swim or guided nature walk offered by the lodge. After a sumptuous lunch, prepare your cameras for the afternoon game drive when wildlife is most active. Amboseli is renowned for its elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeest, all set against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Witness the famous “floating” elephants in the swampy areas fed by the mountain’s waters. Return to Amboseli Sopa Lodge (or similar) for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart Amboseli and drive through lush coffee and tea plantations towards Aberdare National Park. Stop in the town of Nyeri for lunch before continuing to your tree lodge of choice – Treetops, The Ark, or Mountain Lodge. (If staying at Mountain Lodge, lunch is served upon arrival.) Enjoy a unique overnight experience with unlimited wildlife viewing, as animals visit the illuminated waterhole and salt lick right outside your room. Dinner and overnight are at your Ark Lodge or selected tree lodge, surrounded by forested wilderness.

After an early breakfast, depart by road for Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned as an ornithological paradise with over 450 bird species and vast flocks of flamingos. Arrive around 12:30 pm and begin a game drive en route to your lodge for lunch and check-in. After a relaxing afternoon, set out at 16:00 for another game drive and a nature walk along the lake shores, returning to the lodge before sunset. Lake Nakuru is famous for its flamingo colonies, endangered black and white rhinos, rare Rothschild’s giraffes, tree-climbing lions, buffaloes, leopards, gazelles, and diverse primates. Dinner and overnight are at Lake Nakuru Lodge, overlooking the shimmering lake.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game and bird drive along the shores of Lake Nakuru before departing for the Masai Mara National Reserve, the Kenyan extension of Tanzania’s Serengeti and famously known for the Great Migration between June and September. Stop for lunch in Narok Town en route, then arrive in the Mara in time for an afternoon game drive, where you may spot the Big Five, diverse birdlife, and the reserve’s iconic savannah landscapes. The Masai Mara offers vast rolling plains, acacia groves, riverine forests, and scenic hills, home to endless herds of wildlife and the indigenous Masai people. Return to Mara Sopa Lodge (or similar) for dinner and overnight.

Spend a full day exploring the breathtaking Masai Mara, home to vast herds of plains game and abundant predators. Track lions, buffalo, black rhinos, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, hippos, and Coke’s hartebeest, enjoying picnic lunch boxes by the Mara River while watching crocodiles and hippos in their natural habitat. In the late afternoon, visit a Maasai village for a cultural immersion: take a nature walk with a Maasai guide to learn about medicinal herbs, witness traditional singing and dancing around a campfire, and hear stories from the village chief about Maasai culture and social life. Dinner is served in the village before returning to Mara Sopa Lodge (or similar) for overnight.

Spend the day immersing yourself in the Masai Mara’s iconic landscapes with a short morning game drive to spot lions, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, and other wildlife. Afterward, visit a Maasai village for an authentic cultural experience: enjoy singing and dancing, learn about traditional herbs on a guided nature walk, and gain insights into Masai customs and daily life. Return to Mara Sopa Lodge (or similar) in the afternoon to relax, enjoy lunch or dinner, and soak in the views of the sprawling savannah. Overnight at the lodge.

After breakfast at your lodge, check out and depart the Masai Mara, enjoying the scenic drive back to Nairobi. Arrive in the afternoon, marking the end of your 8-day luxury Kenya safari.
