After an early breakfast, you will depart for Murchison Falls National Park, beginning your journey into Uganda’s wilderness. En route, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an unforgettable guided walk to track the endangered white rhinos in their natural habitat. This is Uganda’s only place to see rhinos in the wild and offers a rare, close-up wildlife experience.

After lunch, continue to Murchison Falls National Park (total drive time approximately 6–7 hours including stops). Upon arrival, check in to your lodge, relax, enjoy dinner, and settle in for the night.

Overnight: Fort Murchison Lodge

Today is dedicated to discovering the rich wildlife and dramatic landscapes of Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most diverse protected area.

Begin the day with a morning game drive in the northern sector of the park, characterized by rolling savannah plains. Wildlife sightings may include lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, hippos, spotted hyenas, and, with luck, leopards. The area is also excellent for birdwatching, with species such as the Secretary Bird, Black-chested Snake Eagle, Tawny and Martial Eagles, Carmine Bee-eaters, and Swallow-tailed Bee-eaters.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Nile to the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls, where the river explodes through a narrow 7-meter gorge. This breathtaking experience offers close views of hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife along the riverbanks.

After the cruise, disembark for a guided hike to the top of the falls, allowing you to admire the thunderous cascade and panoramic views of the Nile as it forces its way through the rocky gorge.

Overnight: Fort Murchison Lodge

After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park, a scenic drive of approximately 8 hours through Uganda’s beautiful countryside. Along the way, enjoy optional stopovers to admire breathtaking landscapes, including views of the Rift Valley escarpment overlooking Lake Albert, as well as rural villages and expansive tea and banana plantations.

Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and begin to soak in the tranquil atmosphere of the forest. The area is rich in primate life, and you may spot blue monkeys and black-and-white colobus monkeys around the lodge. The sounds of birds and forest wildlife create a peaceful and immersive rainforest experience.

Overnight: Kibale Forest Camp

After an early breakfast, head into Kibale Forest National Park for an unforgettable chimpanzee tracking experience. Accompanied by expert guides, you will trek on foot through the rainforest in search of man’s closest relatives. Along the way, you may encounter other primates, colorful bird species, butterflies, and diverse forest flora.

Chimpanzees share about 98.7% of their DNA with humans and are known for their intelligence, social behavior, and remarkable use of tools such as sticks for extracting termites and stones for cracking nuts. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend up to one hour observing them in their natural habitat, in line with conservation guidelines.

After the trek, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying scenic views of the Rwenzori Mountain ranges en route. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and relax.

Overnight: The Bush Lodge

After an early breakfast, set out for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, focusing on the wildlife-rich Kasenyi Plains. This area offers excellent opportunities to spot elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and other savannah wildlife. To increase your chances of seeing the park’s famous predators, the drive includes lion tracking, guided by experienced rangers who monitor lion movements.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George. This cruise is one of the highlights of Queen Elizabeth National Park, offering close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and an impressive variety of birdlife along the shores.

After the cruise, return to your lodge to relax and unwind.

Overnight: The Bush Lodge

After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. This scenic drive takes you through rolling hills, picturesque villages, and lush landscapes, setting the stage for the highlight of your safari: gorilla trekking.

Upon arrival, check in to your lodge, relax, and prepare for the next day’s gorilla encounter.

Overnight: Ride 4 A Woman Lodge

Begin the day with an early morning gorilla trek into the dense, lush hills of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The hike takes you through steep, forested trails surrounded by exotic flora, leading to an unforgettable encounter with these gentle giants.

Once located, you will spend up to one hour observing the gorillas, guided by expert rangers. This intimate experience offers a rare glimpse into their social behavior and is truly the highlight of any Uganda safari. After the trek, return to your lodge to relax and reflect on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Overnight: Ride 4 A Woman Lodge

After an early breakfast, depart Bwindi and travel to Lake Mburo National Park, enjoying scenic countryside views along the way, including rolling hills, expansive banana plantations, and grazing Ankole cattle.

Lake Mburo is home to over 60 species of mammals, including impalas (unique to the park in Uganda), Burchell’s zebras, buffaloes, topis, elands, warthogs, hyenas, leopards, and hippos, as well as 350 bird species, such as the rare shoebill stork, African finfoot, and saddle-billed stork.

Upon arrival, embark on an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where you can spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birds, including fish eagles and pelicans. This is a relaxing and scenic way to experience the park’s diverse wildlife.

Overnight: Eagles Nest Lodge

Start the day with an early morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park, spotting zebras, buffalos, topis, elands, hippos, impalas, and other savannah wildlife. This is a final chance to enjoy Uganda’s abundant fauna before your journey back.

After the game drive, depart for Entebbe, stopping briefly at the Equator Crossing for photos and fun demonstrations. Experience the quirky experiments often performed at the Equator, such as watching water swirl in opposite directions on either side of the line.

Continue your journey to Entebbe, where you will arrive at the airport or your hotel for onward departure, bringing your 10-day Uganda Gorillas & Wildlife Safari to a memorable close.
