Your safari starts here, and we're as excited about getting going as you are. We're really looking forward to meeting you, introducing you to your guide, and taking you out on the first steps of your safari. It's worth taking the time to explore Nairobi, which is both your gateway to so many safari experiences and a fascinating destination in its own right. Here you'll find museums, a national park and wildlife-rescue centers to go with the excellent shops, markets, restaurants, hotels and nightlife, as well as endlessly interesting street life.
Lake Nakuru National Park is sure to be one of the highlights of your safari in Kenya. For a start, you'll almost certainly see rhinos (both black and white), lions (including rare tree-climbing lions) and endangered Rothschild's giraffes (which have very pale markings below their knees). Watch also for flamingo, leopard and plenty of birds, all set against a beautiful backdrop of acacia forest, lake and escarpment.
Welcome to one of the best safari destinations in Kenya. Here in the Masai Mara National Reserve, you're almost certain to see lions, hyenas, hippos, elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas and zebras, not to mention the more-than-500 species of birds that have been recorded here. There's also a good chance you'll encounter leopards and cheetahs. Another memorable thing about visiting the Masai Mara is the landscape of vast savannah grasslands with plenty of flat-topped acacia trees
Spend more time exploring the stunning natural landscapes and extraordinary wildlife of the Masai Mara National Reserve
You’ll never forget the time you spend in the Serengeti. Perhaps it will be the sightings of leopard and cheetah as they show their skills as feared hunters of the plains and valleys. Or that unforgettable moment when an elephant family feeds alongside your vehicle, so close you could almost reach out and touch them. Or the first time you hear a lion roar. Then there are the herds of buffalo, zebra or wildebeest so large that they move as one across your horizon, like a river. All of these experiences are possible in the Serengeti, one of the most beautiful parks in Africa.
There’s no such thing as too many days in the Serengeti – today you’ll get to enjoy it all over again
Today you’ll visit Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most beautiful natural sights in Africa, a place where you’ll experience otherworldly beauty with extraordinary wildlife. Watch as, from above, morning mist rolls up and over the crater rim, and notice how the steep walls suggest a place unlike any other. Down below on the crater floor, explore a lost world preserved in a state of pristine isolation, one that shelters lions and hyenas, elephants and black rhinos, flamingos and golden jackals. There are also forests, hippo-filled lakes, a salt pan and hyena dens, and you’ll never lose the sense that you’ve stumbled into a safari theme park where everything’s wild.
Strung out in the shadow of the Rift Valley escarpment, that great fracture in the earth’s surface that divides Africa in two, Lake Manyara is one of Tanzania’s more unusual parks. Here you’ll certainly see the elephants for which the park is famous, and, if you’re really lucky, one of the park’s equally well-known tree-climbing lions. There’s also a lake filled with wading birds, plenty of olive baboons, and dense forests that make you feel that exciting animals could emerge from the trees at any moment. It’s a wonderful chance to mark the transition between the lower plains and the Crater Highlands (with Ngorongoro Crater) away to the west.
Explore one of Tanzania’s most rewarding national parks, a land of big baobab trees, big elephants and big cats. No wonder this ends up being the favorite park in Tanzania for many visitors. Sightings of wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, baboons, vervet monkeys and zebras are also almost guaranteed. Lions are plentiful here – Tarangire is home to one of Tanzania’s healthiest lion populations. While you’ll have to work a little harder to see a cheetah or leopard, it will only enhance your excitement when you do. You can also look forward to classic safari scenery – savannah plains, river woodlands and rocky hills.
You'll be visiting one of the best safari parks in Africa when you come to Amboseli. The park is filled with bigtusked elephants, and Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain (5895m), looms over Amboseli. This combination makes for some fantastic photos, especially when the clouds clear over the summit as they do most days around sunrise and sunset. You also have a good chance of seeing lions, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes (out in the park's east), wildebeests and plenty of gazelles. The park is also terrific for birding, with 420 species recorded.
Spend more time getting to know magnificent Amboseli National Park.
It's a pity that it has to end, but this is where your safari will draw to a close. We're sure that you will return home with so many exciting and happy memories, and we hope that you will join us again on safari sometime in the future.
Very part of this tour was excellent. Our room was lovely – larger than expected. We had a balcony which I really enjoyed.
It was great! Beautiful views and fun activities
