Depart Nairobi in the morning and journey north through the fertile farmlands of the Kikuyu people, passing the scenic slopes of Mount Kenya, Africa’s second-highest peak. Before entering the reserve, enjoy a cultural visit to a local Samburu village, where you’ll experience traditional dances and gain insight into the customs and daily life of this proud warrior community.

Continue into the rugged beauty of Samburu National Reserve, home to rare northern species and impressive populations of elephants and big cats. An afternoon game drive introduces you to this wild, untamed landscape before settling in for dinner and an overnight stay at Umoja Camp.

Enjoy a full day of wildlife safari drives in Samburu, searching for unique species found only north of the equator, including the Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, Grevy’s zebra, the elegant reticulated giraffe, and the long-necked gerenuk, often seen standing on its hind legs to feed. Return to the camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart Samburu and drive south toward Lake Nakuru, with scenic stops at Thomson Falls and viewpoints along the Great Rift Valley. If time and weather permit, there may be an optional visit to a local tea farm to learn about tea production. Arrive in Nakuru in the late evening. Dinner and overnight at Chester Hotel.

After breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru and journey to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Travel through scenic countryside to arrive in the afternoon, where vast open plains and iconic flat-topped acacia trees set the scene for unforgettable wildlife encounters. Settle into your permanent tented camp. Dinner and overnight at Fisi Camp.

Enjoy a full day in the Masai Mara with extensive game drives across the rolling savannah, offering excellent opportunities to spot wildlife during the best viewing hours. Explore the reserve’s diverse landscapes and abundant animal life. Guests opting for an optional hot air balloon safari will float over the plains at sunrise for a breathtaking aerial view of the Mara (this replaces the morning game drive). Dinner and overnight at Fisi Camp.

After breakfast, depart the Masai Mara and travel back to Nairobi. On arrival, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward departure.
